| Biography (Optional) | Through my business Karuna Aged Care, Mental Health & Disability Services, my aim is to help people lead the best lives that they can; to develop and maintain independence, undertake activities of interest, fulfill their dreams or reach their goals. I take a person-centered approach and believe my listening skills together with my practical “hands on” style provides a wide scope of opportunity to build strong, productive and meaningful relationships. Supporting those I work with to make their life a little easier, gives me great joy. In my spare time, I love taking care of my home, tending to my veggie garden, doing puzzles, listening to music and going to gigs – to be honest, I’m a bit of a music nerd! |

| General Vibe | While I was working in aged care (during Covid), I also studied and completed a Cert IV in Disability. I have since worked for 2 well respected organisations as an NDIS support worker for participants with moderate to highly complex physical and mental challenges. The nature of my support includes assistance with self-care activities, daily living skills, accessing local community services, brief psychosocial intervention, emotional support and providing relevant and appropriate referrals. I take a very person-centered approach to ensure the needs, interests, and goals of those I am working with are met. I am an active listener and have a very “hands-on” practical approach which I believe helps me to build strong, productive, and positive relationships. My belief is that all people have the capacity to achieve personal wellbeing, and my passion is to help those I am supporting to find the strategies that work best for them. I want all my participants to have the opportunity to reach their full potential, fulfill their dreams, and reach their goals. |
