An opportunity exists for an Advanced Occupational Therapist to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment, treatment, advice, consultation, and authoritative counsel to SCHHS staff around long stay patients including those involved in NDIS where highly complex needs are identified whilst facilitating clinical and systemic escalations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact within the SCHHS for all matters relating to NDIS and related disability issues for occupational therapy staff, and act in partnership with stakeholders as a point of contact for all SCHHS staff to provide primary support for matters pertaining to NDIS and long stay patients. Role scope includes but is not limited to, adult physical, paediatric and community services).
  • Deliver advanced Occupational Therapy clinical and consultancy services to Long Stay and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) patients in accordance with accepted professional practices, legal and ethical requirements with a high degree of independence – including functional assessment, equipment prescription and home modification
  • Utilise specialised level of Occupational Therapy knowledge and skills in NDIS, Disability, legislation, functional assessment, equipment prescription and home modification to provide advice, clinical guidance, and consultation to SCHHS senior management, clinical staff and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide authoritative counsel to all relevant stakeholders on matters regarding complex length of stay patients, NDIS, specifically in relation to NDIS/NDIA technical and clinical knowledge, expertise, legislation, and accountability.

Salary between $4866.90 – $5078.30 p.f. (f/t) (HP5) ( temporary full time positions available for 6 months, 76 hrs p.f.)
