Job Description

We are seeking a Full Time NDIS Community Coordinator to work within our Disability Services Team.

In this role you will work as part of a small team to assist NDIS participants with access to JewishCare disability programs and provide support to clients without NDIS plans in order to maximize access to relevant mainstream, community support and funding opportunities. You will work within a community context to ensure members of the Jewish community have access to a range of supports and facilitate the delivery of JewishCare disability support worker services while providing appropriate supervision and coaching for JewishCare disability support workers.

You will need to be highly adaptable, creative, easy going and an excellent communicator. You will apply your enthusiasm, positivity and empathy as you work with participants and their families to build better lives for people with disabilities and enhance their ability to achieve their goals.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Allied Health or Nursing, a minimum of a Diploma of Community Services;
  • Strong knowledge of the NDIS and Quality and Safeguards;
  • Proven experience in providing expert advice and consultation to NDIS participants and their families on the changing NDIS environment;
  • Experience in supporting people with a range of disabilities including intellectual/developmental disability and be passionate about enabling people with intellectual disabilities to live a fulfilling and inclusive life;
  • Recent experience in using client management systems and proven ability to assess client support needs clinically and holistically;
  • Superior verbal and written communication and the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders;
  • Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to mediate difficult situations and crises with clients, carers and service providers;
  • Current drivers’ licence.

  • Knowledge, sensitivity and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture.

This role is SCHADS Level 4 – salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
